'Finding expression in painting the landscape' is a one day WORKSHOP I will be leading at the National Trust property of Allan Bank in Grasmere on Thursday 27th August 2026. Be inspired by the same unique Lakeland views from the house and grounds which influenced Wordsworth. I will be demonstrating throughout the session in oils to show step by step how I build up the painting surface - but the main focus will be on time and space for you to sketch and develop ideas in completing your own expressive oil or acrylic painting ** WITH OUTDOOR OR INDOOR PAINTING DEPENDING ON THE WEATHER ON THE DAY! **

ABBOT HALL IN KENDAL - REOPENING
I have a number of paintings available to view and purchase in the Gallery Shop of Abbot Hall in Kendal. After a period of closure for refurbishment, Abbot Hall - one of Britain’s preeminent small art galleries, set in a beautifully restored Grade I-listed Georgian building on the banks of the River Kent in Kendal, Cumbria has now reopened. Run by Lakeland Arts - this is to coincide with a rolling exhibition programme

We have our annual weekend STUDENT EXHIBITION in September at the lovely Hare Hill Barn at Cartmel Fell. The students from termly CLASSES in my studio are getting a choice selection of their paintings finished and framed in readyness
With a PRIVATE VIEW by invite only on the Friday evening 7-9pm the gallery will then be open 10-4pm on the Saturday and Sunday
