WOODLANDS series

Sometimes there is a need to get away from the work in front of you and walk away... come back to it with fresh eyes. My studio is surrounded by woodlands and so it is easy to take myself off and be immersed in abundant nature and be refreshed. It was during one of these walks that I was taken by the sunlight breaking through the trees and so what was a chance to get away became a surprise source of new inspiration - right on my doorstep

This is a small series of X5 paintings. As with other work they have been built up in layers 'wet on wet' and then finished with a bold impasto style that reflects my desire to connect with the painting and the environment. This series also continues a NEW size of canvas recently introduced and referred to as Small/ Medium

These paintings are complete with beautiful handmade, and hand-painted black 'St Ives style' frames. All leading the eye into the work. Signed by me on the front - and all labelled on the reverse they are ready to hang
